For Anasma, art enables us to express ourselves freely. Freedom comes from a fine balance between knowing the rules (of science, anatomy, physiology, mechanics, aesthetics, traditions, and historical facts...)... and breaking away from rules (through poetry, imagination, daring to create a new individual language)... Our bodies are a vessel of communication. Our bodies enable us to make an experience of life and of the outer world. Our bodies also allow us to go inside of ourselves and know ourselves better, connect to the divine.
Anasma loves basing her movement exploration, (dance, yoga and more etc) in the knowledge of anatomy and physiology. By educating dancers and yogis, she aims to bring them more body awareness, more self-mastery to avoid injuries and develop long-term practice, more release and self-confidence allowing their spontaneous embodied freedom.
Yoga Dance Air ® ONLINE WORKSHOP - PELVIS
Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th November, 10.00 - 12.00 ( A replay will be available for all participants)
Program
If you are fluent in both yoga and dance, this workshop will enable you to create connections. If you are new to either yoga or dance, Anasma will teach you the basics of the other form helping you to deepen your discovery and research.
The 2 x 2-hour online workshop will focus specifically on the anatomy of the pelvis and include elements of the following:
EARTH: Yoga Dance Air ® LISTEN INSIDE- Earth & SOUL principles with intention setting, breathwork, perineum. Grounding our centre, we will talk about the alignments of the hips with the head and feet. We will offer an efficient core and back conditioning for dance lovers who want to take care of themselves in the long run.
WATER: Yoga Dance Air ® FLUIDIFY with the WAVING Theory: we focus on creating fluidity in the body. We will be waving from head to toe, connecting our moves and awareness of the pelvis with fluidity and breath. We will thread our inner sensations together to let the energy and emotions flow.
FIRE: Yoga Dance Air ® DIVERSIFY through ACCENTS: we define dynamics, rhythms of movement, and quality changes. Engaging and relaxing the pelvic floor, the technical content of this class includes elements such as muscular contractions and release with an awareness of anatomy. We control and let go.
AIR: Yoga Dance Air ® EXPAND your Space - Finding contrast between the inner space and the space around us, we also play with taking our axis off balance, expanding and contracting in space, connecting to the space outside and inside.
Yoga Dance Air ® ONLINE WORKSHOP - PELVIS

ANASMA SAYS:
“I come from Dance, and Theater, since the age of 5, from performance, from pushing myself to the max, creating beauty and/or intensity, and conveying emotions through my body. Yoga arrived in my dance journey in my late twenties. After becoming a certified Ashtanga Vinyasa Teacher recognized by the Yoga Alliance as E-RYT 200 and RYT 500, I took other specialities in Aerial Yoga, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga. On top of an extensive 20 years international career, I have also taken four years of National Contemporary Dance Teacher degree. My training encompassed over 1500 hours of training in music, history of dance, pedagogy and anatomy. Last but not least, my two pregnancies have totally changed my approach to movement and taught me to lose everything, rebuild, slow down, work more efficiently, and in a balanced long-term self-loving way.
Because I had done extensive movement research and fusion all my life, I naturally created an encounter between yoga and dance and this is how my brand "Yoga Dance Air ®" was born. I created the synthesis between all my years of training, my experience, on stage as well as teaching weekly classes or teaching workshops since 2006. And I am hoping to pass down tools for self-expression, healthy movement, self-love to movers from both boards, yoga and dance.
As I speak many languages, I feel the "Yoga Dance Air ®" technique is a good ground for "meeting" in the middle, whether you come from one culture or the other.
To me, Yoga and Dance really nourish each other for the long term, complementing and balancing each other well, with fun and calm, outer and inner energies, with grounding-centred and creative expansive flows. Both yoga and dance develop different levels of body and mind consciousness.
This is what Yoga gave as a dancer - some very important keys of mastery:
- feel my body, my breath, and my centre truly through slowness,
- go inside away from a mirror and disconnect from judgment,
- develop kindness and balance, a sense of wanting to have vitality and longevity
- create more calmness, patience, and balance
- technically, I am stronger than ever at age 40, as yoga conditioned my dancer's body:
more lines, more strength, more core, more upper body capacities, and more legs too...
which helps with floorwork, turns, jumps, extensions...
- master the postures/ asanas that have passed through dance technique
- focus, concentrate, go deeply, find inner peace
And Dance brings to my yoga practice the following;
- abundant anti-boredom creativity
- joy, peppiness and playfulness
- opening on the outer world and space: projecting the gaze and controlling the breath outwardly
- the capacity to tell stories and convey emotions beyond the shape
- further add qualities, dynamics and speed to movements done traditionally in a certain way
- bring fluidity of transitions Between the postures
- the capacity to choreograph larger groups and use the impulse of the music.”
