A contemporary vision of oriental dance Spain
Lena Nouar is a dancer specialising in oriental dances, with training in contemporary and classical dance. She is from Barcelona, and she has been working professionally as a dancer, teacher and manager for 22 years. Lena Nouar started in the art world through theatre at the age of 13 years old, then she focus her career on dance and dedicate herself fully to it, both in training as well as experience. Since 2008 she has been directing the Alnouart dance studio in Barcelona.
Nova Oriental combines the techniques of oriental dance and contemporary dance. The organic movement of both languages merges to create new landscapes and imaginaries, introducing elements of physical theatre, choral work, and expression of movement...
In the sessions we develop:
Work on physical preparation and body awareness
The technical and choreographic language
Creative play.
On this occasion, we will focus on the meeting point between contemporary and oriental techniques. The wide movements and different levels of contemporary dance are re-signified by introducing the internal movement work, the spirals and the definition of hands and arms of oriental dance.

Workshops Series 2022-2023
In order to continue learning and deepening our knowledge, we offer you this series of courses with different teachers during the new period 2022/23. This series of courses are presented in a format of 3 hours (always on Saturdays from 14h. to 17h.) to have first contact with the teacher and the content.
