Celebrating 10 Years Since Taking Over the ZeoT ...

2025 marks a major milestone for me and our dance studio: 10 years of movement, joy, and connection! When I took over the studio a decade ago, it was already a thriving space for dancers. My vision was to honour its success while bringing a fresh perspective—infusing more art, strengthening the sense of community, and expanding our offerings. The journey has been transformative in ways I could never have imagined.

Throughout this year, I want to take you behind the scenes of our 10-year story. We’ll reflect on where it all began, celebrate the incredible community we’ve built, and share some fun surprises along the way.

Tips for belly dance with a veil

One of our favourite accessories to dance with is the veil, the theme of our A and A/M choreographies in our next course period (KP2) starting March 4th 2024. Veils can be used to frame movements or become an extension of the dancer’s body. Dynamic, dramatic or dreamy, the movement fills the space around the dancer in colour and shape, as the veil adds a new dimension to the performance.

Learning arabic rhythms can really help to improve your dancing! Not only will you be able to hear and follow the beat, helping you to keep in time, you will also start to recognise what style of dance fits to the music and find improvising so much easier!

Mach mit in unserer Spezial-Rhythmus-Kursperiode und lerne Technik und Kombinationen zu verschiedenen arabischen Rhythmen, und profitiere ebenfalls von unserer Abo Promotion (mehr Infos unten).

Arabische Rhythmen zu lernen wird Dir helfen Deinen Tanzstil zu verbessern. Du wirst nicht nur lernen den Beat zu hören und im Takt zu tanzen, sondern Du wirst auch erkennen, welche Bewegungen zu einem bestimmten Musikstil passen. Das wird Dir in Zukunft das Improvisieren erleichtern.

Überschneidet sich Dein Sommerurlaub mit KP4? Kein Problem! Da Du keine Choreografie lernen musst, kannst Du auch nach Deinen Ferien wieder ganz einfach in den laufenden Kurs einsteigen.

Im Sommer haben wir ausserdem viel zu feiern! Wir bieten Dir ein tolles Workshop Programm an und feiern mit einem Tag der offenen Tür unser 10-jähriges Jubiläum an der Lagerstrasse mit Crashkursen, Showblocks und leckeren Mezze. Wir würden uns freuen, wenn Du kommst und die Gelegenheit nutzt, das ZeoT ein paar von Deinen Freundinnen vorzustellen.

Um ein Trommelsolo zu tanzen benötigst Du Schnelligkeit, Kraft und Muskelkontrolle. Ein Trommelsolo zeichnet sich durch präzise Hüftakzente, Shimmies und Überlagerungen aus, um die verschiedenen Rhythmen zu interpretieren, es ist herausfordernd, macht Spass und ist eine gute Gelegenheit an Deiner Technik zu feilen. Get ready to shimmy in unserer Trommelsolo-Kursperiode! 

Falls Du zusätzlich Deinen Shimmy oder Deine Tanztechnik verbessern möchtest, kannst Du Dir in Simones Blogeintrag ein paar tolle Tipps abholen, oder Du kommst in einen unserer Tanztechnik Kurse, um an Deinen isolierten Bewegungen zu arbeiten.

To dance a drum solo requires speed, strength, and body control. Full of hip pops, locks, shimmies, and movement layering to mirror the complex drum rhythms, drum solos are challenging, fun and also a great way to work on your technique! Get ready to shimmy in KP3 as we explore the drum solo in all levels! Need help with your shimmy or technique? Simone offers some great advice on improving your shimmy or pop in to one of our technique classes to polish your isolations.

For ideas on how to get more creative with a veil check out our blog series "A fresh look at veil technique". Dancing with a veil can also help build strength in the upper body, arms and shoulders and in our latest newsletter we offer you a few tips on increasing range of movement in the upper body as well as advice on how to care for your veil.

Der Schleier ist eines der beliebtesten Accessoires im orientalischen Tanz und in der nächsten Kursperiode widmen wir uns in allen Kursniveaus dem Schleiertanz. Der Schleier kann Bewegungen umrahmen, eine Erweiterung des Körpers werden oder Figuren kreieren. Mal dynamisch, mal verträumt füllt der Schleier den Raum um die Tänzerin in verschiedenen Farben und Formen. In unserem Blog ’A fresh look at veil Technique’ findest Du verschiedene kreative Ideen dazu. 

Tanzen mit dem Schleier hilft Dir ausserdem mehr Kraft im Oberkörper, in den Armen und in den Schultern aufzubauen. In diesem Newsletter geben wir Dir ein paar Tipps wie Du im Oberkörper beweglicher wirst und wie Du Deinen Schleier pflegen kannst.

Unsere ZeoT Show rückt immer näher und die Schülerinnen wie auch die Lehrerinnen sind fleissig an den Vorbereitungen!
